This single photo represents the entire eclipse from start to finish. It was shot on one frame of film by having the telescope track at sidereal rate, and allowing
the Moon to move through the frame from right to left. The Moon moves about
one diameter eastward every hour, so it ended up taking over 5 hours to
complete this photo.
