You might think that to find your way around the sky you need to know both celestial coordinates and time definitions. Let Skyscraper President Steve Siok introduce you to many of the terms you will encounter as you look through the various celestial guides. Using diagrams and star charts, Steve will soon have you very comfortably knowing how to navigate overhead as well as you do here on Earth.
Have you ever looked up at the night sky, and wondered what stars you were seeing? What constellation patterns are being made overhead? This workshop will introduce you to the skies of spring and early summer, by showing you, step by step, how, by beginning at the Big Dipper, to find your way through the nighttime sky.
We learned that our speaker for the June 3 Skyscraper meeting was called out of the country on a family emergency.
After consultation among the E board members, it was decided to cancel the meeting.
The next scheduled meeting will be on SATURDAY July 9.

The July meeting will feature Dr. Wallace Arthur who will speak to us about cosmic rays. This was moved from February when we had to cancel a meeting. This will be accompanied by a picnic/cookout.
